Welcome to the world of Pete Dye. A world full of railroad ties, bent grass and mind-bending design. The Dye Club at Barefoot Resort and Golf is a prime example of the designer's signature work and use of native grasses. The par 72, 7,343-yard Dye Course is as visually stunning as it is challenging to play. The first hole is a narrow dog-leg left, bordered by waste areas to the left, and mounding to the right. This classic Dye opening test will immediately remind you that it's time to play.
There are several signature holes throughout the course, but No. 10 stands out in many golfers' minds. The hole measures only 315 yards from the men's tee, but tests every part of your game and nerves. The tee shot must be placed between water to the left and treacherous pot bunkers to the right. Once safely in the fairway, players are challenged to hold a wedge on the elevated narrow putting surface guarded on all sides by bunkers, both grass and sand.
As you make your way to the 18th tee, one final challenge remains. This beautifully carved dog-leg left hugs a pond which serves as protection for not only the fairway, but the green as well. An ample landing area from the tee narrows considerably as you approach the green complex. Mounding to the right and hazards to the left provide for a memorable closing sequence.
Pete Dye has made his mark all over the world, but only one course has been honoured with the title of The Dye Club. Take full advantage of everything this course has to offer by enjoying a post-round beverage or fine dining in the Dye Clubhouse, which boasts magnificent views of holes 9, 10 and 18.
